He has a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine, is nationally certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), and is PA state board licensed.

Aches, pains, injury, stress…are a part of life. Medication and surgery are options, but not the only ones. Everyday millions or people around the world choose acupuncture (a key component of Chinese medicine) to alleviate pain and to treat various physical, mental, and emotional conditions. Even animals receive the benefits of acupuncture!

Every person, children to the elderly, can benefit from acupuncture. For many conditions it is the stand-alone therapy. For others it’s a complement to other treatment approaches such as physical therapy or medication.
The World Health Organization (WHO) published an official report listing 31 symptoms, conditions and diseases that have been shown in controlled trials to be treated effectively by Acupuncture:

  • Low back pain
  • Neck pain
  • Sciatica
  • Tennis elbow
  • Knee pain
  • Peri-arthritis of the shoulder
  • Sprains
  • Facial pain
  • TMJ
  • Headache
  • Dental pain
  • Acute and chronic gastritis
  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • Induction of labor
  • Breech birth presentation
  • Morning sickness
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Postoperative pain
  • Stroke
  • Essential hypertension
  • Primary hypotension
  • Renal colic
  • Leucopenia
  • Radiation/chemo reactions
  • Allergic rhinitis
  • Hay fever
  • Biliary colic
  • Depression
  • Acute bacillary dysentery
  • Primary dysmenorrhea
  • Acute epigastralgia
  • Peptic ulcer

At the office I treat one person at a time. When you come, the hour is devoted exclusively to you. Each treatment is individualized to your specific needs.

Some conditions only require acupuncture while others combine acupuncture with myofascial release (a gentle form of bodywork), or dietary advice, or herbal medicine recommendations. That differs from other acupuncture business models in the area. With community style acupuncture the cost is lower but the individual attention suffers greatly. People are treated side by side which gives no privacy or opportunity for the practitioner to add other modalities. In multi-room clinics where the practitioner is treating many at once, individual attention again suffers as they move room to room and the price can be higher. I’m right in the middle – affordable and focused on you.

I can’t say enough about Scott! I came to his office for joint pain and I have to say I was impressed from the moment I stepped through the door.
I found Scott to be professional, attentive and compassionate. Before each each treatment Scott evaluated my progress and made adjustments.
I have received myofascial release, tens and acupuncture points. The treatments have improved the quality of my life!
Springfield Township is lucky to have such a gifted practitioner. Thank you Scott!

I suffered from a long nagging injury that just would not heal with pain relievers and light massages. When I saw Scott’s ad in the local paper I just knew I had to go see him. After
four or five weekly treatments the scar tissue in my injury broke loose and I was free from
pain and was finally able to get back in the gym! I now see Scott every third week and he
has me in such great shape that I will be indebted to him forever!

My husband finally convinced me that Scott would be able to help me with my Fibromyalgia. I was skeptical but heeded his advice and went and never looked back! Scott is AMAZING!! The pain I was going through was excruciating and Scott has literally taken it away. The Chinese herbs and the acupuncture has allowed me to function again. I will be forever in his debt and will continue to see him as long as he can tolerate me! I will be forever grateful to him. I highly recommend him and his practice.

This practitioner is awesome! I’ve tried countless Western Allopathic Medical doctors and medicines in an attempt to relieve my acute & chronic stubborn back and neck pain. I’ve had limited success with those. Two motor vehicle accidents resulted in me having to use a wheelchair. However after treatment by Scott Smith my symptoms greatly diminished. He’s able to address pain relief though his expert use of acupuncture needles and ASP ear needles. Can’t even leave my home usually because of my infirmities but Scott Smith even treated me in my home! He’s very generous, the prices are good/fair, and he’s very personable. Through treatment from this extremely talented acupuncturist, and increased physical therapy, I am now able to stand on my own two feet. This man is a genius!!!

I am very active and love to play tennis, run and bike. However, as I got older I’m more prone to injury. But, I’m definitely not ready to give up my passions. So, I thought I’d try acupuncture. And, it works! Everytime! Now, whenever I experience pain or discomfort I go to Scott. By the next day at the latest, I feel so much relief. I would highly recommend Scott. He’s extremely professional, takes his time to learn exactly what’s troubling me and has such a comfortable office, that I’m never ready to leave! What are you waiting for?

I was very skeptical about trying acupuncture as I didn’t want someone sticking needles in my body.
However after suffering with Plantar Fasciitis for several weeks I decided to give it a try as the pain in my heel was terrible. I checked around and a friend said he went to Scott and was very happy with him for his back pain.
I have to admit it really works because after 4 treatments I have had no more pain. Scott was very professional and I would highly recommend to anyone.

I have osteoarthritis in my knees and the treatments that I have received from Scott have been so great. I am now able to move about without pain and no meds.
    Thanks for your continuing care!
