Middle School Helps Local Families and Creates a Fun Video to Raise Awareness

The middle school community, in conjunction with Bringing Hope Home, has raised over $5,000 for local families battling cancer. They accomplished this through hosting a kickball tournament, selling T-shirts, collecting donations, and creating a lip-sync video to Philip Philips’ song Home to help promote their partnership with Bringing Hope Home and support one of their classmates. After learning of their classmate’s diagnosis, the students wanted to create something for the families of Bringing Hope Home and to raise awareness on the impact cancer has on a family.

This money has a direct impact to 5 local families, and the organization has helped them pay for such expenses as rent, mortgage, utility bills, and medical bills.

This fundraising, along with other activities organized by the Springfield community, has rallied support around local families facing a tough road.
