From the Springfield Township alerts:
Station Avenue is scheduled to be microsurfaced on Monday, July 7, 2014 from 8 AM to 3 PM.
The entire length of roadway from Church Road to North Hills Avenue will be affected. However, construction activities will be phased in order to allow residents access into the North/South Fairway and Woods Road neighborhoods. All other motorists are asked to utilize Willow Grove Avenue as an alternate route.
Microsurfacing is a protective seal coat which extends the life of pavement. It is a thin, tough layer of asphalt emulsion that is blended with finely crushed stone to improve traction and prevent moisture penetration and oxidation. Microsurfacing provides a protective layer which preserves the underlying road structure and eliminates the need for more expensive repairs in the future.
